Our Cubs have been working on stage 1 of the Digital Citizen badge recently. So, last night they produced their own stop motion animations.

Digital Citizen Badge

The Digital Citizen badge is a staged award. This means completing the requirements below will get you stage 1 of the badge. There are 5 stages in all, which build on each other. These can be carried forward through Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers.

  1. Show that you can:
    • Turn on and log into a computer
    • Use a piece of software, for example email or a game
    • Name the main parts of a computer system
    • Connect a peripheral (for example a scanner or printer) to your computer and use it.
  2. Create a piece of digital media.
  3. Use the internet for research.
  4. Design a presentation and tell others about what you have found out.

So, the Cubs have already taken care of requirement 1. Consequently, last night they made some digital media. Specifically, they made their own stop motion animation films. It seems like we have some budding directors among us!

Baloo asked the Cubs to use the Internet for research. They need to find out about Robert Baden-Powell and the history of Cub Scouting. They should then present their findings to complete the badge.
